Well folks, I've had a tough week to be honest. Covid-19 worries are increasing in Canada and I'm very anxious for my many at-risk friends... I've been using anime to take my mind off of things. I picked up Bonobono (1995), finished up Hakugei Densetsu, marathoned my way through Tentai Senshi Sunred, Shirobako and Toradora, and checked out Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and Toki no Tabibito: Time Stranger. It's all helping...

Anyway, welcome back to Arcadia Dragnet. We're all having a tough time, but there's still lots of cool fansubbing going on so let's spend some time geeking out!

Contemporary Anime- Unlicensed

This week, BuriBuri released episode 23 of Super Shiro, Some-Stuffs released episode 18 of Pokemon 2019, Hoshi-no-Yume FS released episode 50 of Beyblade Burst GT, Mezashite released episode 24 of Aikatsu on Parade, an anon released episode 11 of Dorohedoro, episode 12 of Hentatsu TV was fansubbed by another anon, and episode 8 of Healin' Good♡Precure was subbed by Serenae and the usual anon. Mutsurini-Translations finished up their work on Natsunagu! with their release of episode 12, Specter Subs continued working toward completion of Youkai Watch with their release of episode 192, and YameteTomete completed their subs for Senki Zeshsoushinai Symphogear XV with their release of episode 4.

This week, the new Trigger show Brand New Animal released its first 6 episodes. Asenshi began working on their fansubs, releasing the first episode, while a new fansubber going by AnimacitySubs quickly released subs for all 6 currently-available episodes. There are subs available for Violet Evergarden Gaiden, currently the best ones seem to have been uploaded by Nyaa user D0ugyB0y but if any better ones surface then I will mention them.

Contemporary Anime- Licensed

Commie Subs released episode 11 of Haikyuu! To The Top, episode 51 of Ace of the Diamond Act II, and episode 23 of Chihayafuru season 3, GoodJobMedia released episode 8 of Eizouken and episode 8 of A Certain Scientific Railgun T, Asenshi released episode 11 of Heya Camp, Asakura released episodes 10 and 11 of Isekai Quartet season 2, Judas released episode 11 of Ishuzoku Reviewers, Mutsurini-Translations released episode 12 of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki, tenshisubs released episode 23 of Nanatsu no Taizai- Kamigami no Gekirin, and Doki Fansubs released episode 11 of Madoka Magica: Magia Record. A new group named StoryTime released the first two episodes in a fansub project for Owarimonogatari that will be based on the Aniplex release.

Classic Anime

This week, NoraInuG released episode 19 of Moeru! Oniisan, OldCastle released episode 3 of Ashita e Attack, Inka-Subs released episode 13 of Chou Kousoku Galvion and episode 13 of Jungle Emperor (1989), /m/subs released episode 42 of Metal Armor Dragonar, GANGO released episode 37 of Bonobono (1995), Elusive released episode 11 of KochiKame, and Live-eviL and Saizen Fansubs (under the name Evil-Saizen) collaborated to release episodes 81 and 82 of Laughing Salesman.

Wisperer released episode 15 of Princess Sara. Nook-Subs released a version of the Animal Crossing movie using elements from the English localized games including names, catchphrases, and direct quotes.

Hentai and Donghua

This week, there were no releases from SakuraCircle. There was some fansubbing work done on older hentai, though: WIP released a version of their subs for Try Z timed to a DVD source, and Incense Idol Subs released subs for Suashi no Houkago.

In terms of donghua, VersusSubs released episode 5 of Wu Liuqi Zhi Zui Qiang Fa Xing Shi (Scissor Seven) and kitkat2010, along with some friends, released episode 4 of Jie Yao (Antidote). Again, AnimeXin holds a lot of English fansubs for donghua, but most of these fansubs are very very poor-quality.

Arcadia Dragnet, Year 1, Issue 11

Welcome back to Arcadia Dragnet, folks, how're you all holding up? Here in Canada pretty much everything is closing down as the government scrambles to respond to COVID-19, I think the increased isolation is driving me a bit batty but at least I've had time to watch some cool cartoons!

I checked out three 90s OVAs; the tranquil and lovely Bobby ni Kubittake, the goofy and raunchy My My Mai, and the bombastically-masculine Osu!! Karate-bu, finished watching Mahou no Idol Pastel Yumi and Saikyo Robo Daioja, and added Unico in the Island of Magic to my list of favourite 80s anime movies. All these excellent anime have helped turn a stressful and worrisome week into a fun and comfortable time, hopefully things get better in the world soon but until then I'll be okay!

This week, BuriBuri released episode 22 of Super Shiro, Some-Stuffs released episode 17 of Pokemon 2019 and episode 3 of Twilight Wings, MoyaiSubs released episode 86 of Kiratto Pri-chan, Hoshi-no-Yume FS released episode 49 of Beyblade Burst GT, Mutsurini-Translations released episode 11 of Natsunagu!, Mezashite released episode 23 of Aikatsu on Parade, an anon released episode 10 of Dorohedoro, episode 11 of Hentatsu TV was fansubbed by an anon, Doremi Fansubs released episodes 24 and 25 of Ojamajo Doremi Comedy Theatre, and episode 7 of Healin' Good♡Precure received fansubs from Serenae and the usual anon.

akemilena released an improved batch for their Kuutei Dragons fansubs and torn from Foxtrot released a version of One Piece Stampede under the name rubberman; torn plans to eventually release a better version of this.

To The Top, episode 50 of Ace of the Diamond Act II, and episode 22 of Chihayafuru season 3, GoodJobMedia released episode 3 of 22/7, Asenshi released episode 10 of Heya Camp, Judas released episode 10 of Ishuzoku Reviewers, Mutsurini-Translations released episode 11 of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki, tenshisubs released episode 22 of Nanatsu no Taizai- Kamigami no Gekirin, Doki Fansubs released episode 10 of Madoka Magica: Magia Record while YameteTomete released episode 5, and 0x539 released episodes 6 and 7 of Somali to Mori to Kamisama.

Classic Anime

This week, NoraInuG released episode 18 of Moeru! Oniisan, OldCastle released episode 2 of Ashita e Attack, ToranSubs released episode 42 of Deltora Quest, SubsDeLaRosa released episode 25 of Red Baron, shiteatersubs released episode 82 of Dr. Slump & Arale-chan, and AnimeShinigami completed their fansubs for Saikyo Robo Daioja with the releases of episode 49 and 50. (A reminder; AnimeShinigami is an exceptionally poor fansub group, these subs are almost unreadably poor.)

Wisperer continued editing Licca Fansubs' work on Princess Sara while matching them to a higher-quality source video, releasing episodes 13 and 14 this week. KaixeRho released the first 2 episodes of Detonator Orgun using a remaster from laserdisc sources. A group called kade16 released the first 3 episodes of Konpeki no Kantai, a classic OVA series about alternate-history nautical warfare. Finally, YZS Softsubs released an improved version of their subs for Detective Conan episodes 166 - 168.

Hentai and Donghua

SakuraCircle released episode 4 of Shakuen no Eris.

VersusSubs released episode 3 and 4 of Wu Liuqi Zhi Zui Qiang Fa Xing Shi (Scissor Seven) and more newly-fansubbed donghua can be found on AnimeXin.

Year 1 Issue 10

Arcadia Dragnet, Year 1, Issue 10

Hello, welcome back to Arcadia Dragnet. I hope everyone's finding ways to keep well despite all the unrest in the world, I always find in times like this that anime becomes an important escape for me. This week I finished the wonderfully pleasant Figure 17, its reflection on the interplay between the mundane and the fantastical was exactly what I needed and I definitely think I'll be revisiting it someday. I then checked out Grimm Douwa: Kin no Tori, Haguregumo and the Kaze to Ki no Uta OVA, three visually-excellent 80s experiences, before entering the 90s with the whimsical Bobby's In Deep and the early 2000s with Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space. It is an honour to live in an era where decades of excellent animated art are available to me at any moment, I am so thankful to the hard-working fans who have invested so many hours into preserving and sharing the anime that I love.

Episode 6 of Healin' Good♡Precure received fansubs from Serenae and the usual anon, and episode 10 of Hentatsu TV was fansubbed by
an anon while episode 8 was fansubbed by LCE.

Sharongearsubs released episode 4 of Senki Zesshoushinai Symphogear XV while YameteTomete released their fansubs for episode 3, AK-Submarines released an updated version of their subtitles for Girls und Panzer das Finale 2, and PA-Subs fansubbed Baja no Mita Umi while also releasing improved fansubs for Baja no Studio. Mutsurini-Translations fansubbed the promotional short Honda-san x Taka no Tsume.

GoodJobMedia returned to fansubbing with a vengeance this week, releasing Eizouken episode 7, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun 2 episode 7, and the 3rd OVA for One Punch Man season 2. Commie Subs also had 3 releases this week: Haikyuu! To The Top episode 9, Ace of the Diamond Act II episode 49, and Chihayafuru season 3 episode 21. Asenshi released episode 9 of Heya Camp, MapleClub released episode 6 of Bofuri, Judas released episode 9 of Ishuzoku Reviewers, Asakura released episode 9 of Isekai Quartet season 2, Mutsurini-Translations released episode 10 of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki,  tenshisubs released episode 21 of Nanatsu no Taizai- Kamigami no Gekirin while Chyuu released episode 18 of the same, Doki Fansubs released episode 9 of Madoka Magica: Magia Record, and 0x539 released episode 5 of Somali to Mori to Kamisama.

Excitingly, Revue Stoplight has announced their intentions to fansub BanG Dream season 3! This group previously fansubbed BanG Dream season 2, adding in lyrics during performance scenes which official releases left without subtitles and also making many small tweaks to the prose. This week the group released an updated batch for season 2, and I can't wait to see more fansubs from them.

Classic Anime

This week, OldCastle released the first episode for their new project Ashita e Attack, NoraInuG released Moeru! Oniisan episode 17, and Stardust Fansubs released episode 6 of Ore-sama Kingdom and episode 3 of Onegai My Melody Kirara. Orphan Fansubs released fansubs for the 80s TV special Hitomi no Naka no Shounen- 15 Shounen Hyouryuuki and the little-known 90s movie Ziggy Sore Yuke! R&R Band. KaixeRho and /m/subs have begun collaborating to release quality fansubs along with the BluRay release of SPT Layzner, releasing the first 6 episodes this week. Some-Stuffs released fansubs for the theatrical cut of Pokemon Movie 1- Metwo Strikes Back. Finally, AnimeShinigami released episodes 47 and 48 of Saikyo Robo Daioja.

Hentai and Donghua

SakuraCircle continues to be an exceptionally prodigious fansub group, releasing episode 2 of Nozaki Kanojo, episode 2 of Youma Shoukan e Youkoso, episode 1 of Shikijou Kyoudan, episode 1 of Onii-chan, Asa made Zutto Gyutte Shite!, episode 2 of Meltys Quest and episode 4 of Venus Blood: Brave. Puff used SakuraCircle's subs to make a higher-quality release for episodes 1 and 2 of Youma Shoukan e Youkoso, while WIP returned to before the year 2000 with subtitles for Isourou Tengoku and Try Z.

AnimeXin hosts fansubs for many donghua. I am still confused by the site and I do not feel I can yet effectively report on what fansubs are being hosted on there, hopefully by next week I will have figured it out.

10 issues in, I hope my blog has filled a niche in the anime fansub community... I started Arcadia Dragnet because I didn't see anyone else talking about fansubbing as a contemporary and living movement. Fansubbing is so cool, I love being part of this fandom space and getting to interact with anime fans who share my passion for this stuff regardless of which decade it came out in. In the coming weeks, I hope to find more ways in which Arcadia Dragnet can serve the community, but failing that I hope that at the very least I am able to deliver something that serves an informational and cataloguing role. Here's to another 10 issues!

Hello everyone and welcome back to Arcadia Dragnet. Last week OldCastle fansubbed the obscure early-90s Kyoto Animation OVA series Noroi no One Piece, this series is a gorgeous and poignant horror-themed look at the subtle ways beauty expectations warp and break the lives of young women and girls and I think everyone should give it a look! I also checked out the excellent and fun mecha OVA Shooting Star Gakusaver, the tranquil and moody Comet in Moominland, and the wonderfully whimsical Coo of the Far Seas. So much excellent anime out there!

Lumpstud released episode 13 of The Snack World and GenmCorp fansubbed Kaiju Girls BLACK.

Finally, two eagerly-anticipated movies got fansubbed. HibikeCord, a large collection of Hibike Euphonium and Kyoto Animation fans, released fansubs for Hibike! Euphonium Movie 3: Chikai no Finale. AK-Submarines, a scanslation group dedicated to localizing manga about moe girls with guns, released fansubs for Girls und Panzer das Finale 2. Thank you to these groups for their hard work!

This week SakuraCircle released episode 2 of Kiss Hug, episode 2 of Enjo Kouhai, and the first episode of Aisei Tenshi Love Mary: Akusei Jutai The Animation. Puff also had a productive week, releasing Tenioha! 2, Energy Kyouka!!, and Tonari no Ie no Anette-san The Animation.

The donghua short Honkai Impact 3- Meteoric Salvation was fansubbed, and subs have appeared on AnimeXin for episode 93 of Douluo Dalu (Soul Land), episode 8 of Yao Jing Zhong Zhi Shou Ce (Demon Spirit Seed Manual), episode 10 of Xian Wang de Richang Shenghuo (The Daily Life of the Immortal King), episode 11 of Wu Geng Ji (The Legend and the Hero) season 3, episode 11 of Wan Jie Shen Zhu (Lord of the Universe), and episode 38 of Wan Jie Xian Zong (The Wonderland of Ten Thousands) season 3.
